Update

Obviously I haven't posted in a while. This shouldn't be a problem since nobody really reads this blog. But, on the off chance that you do and that you are perhaps interested, here's what's been going on with me.
The Old Harbor. Bikes are EVERYWHERE!

I arrived in Copenhagen, Denmark in August and have been enjoying myself immensely. I love this country so much. I resonate with their attitude toward life.

Near where I wait for the bus in the mornings. The 7-Elevens are everywhere too and open late! You can see the tail end of my bus in this photograph.

I've met so many interesting new people from all over the world. I've tried so many new things: foods, wines and beers. I've basically come out of my shell in a way that I couldn't have anticipated. I've been out dancing, to a concert in Christiania, to museums of all sorts and on long walks getting lost, and found, in the city. I've also come to rely on public transportation, which I LOVE!

I don't think I quite new what to expect when I signed up to come to Copenhagen, but it wasn't this. This is so much better.

Roskilde Viking Museum. These are the real ships!

I've also been on quite a few travel excursions!

I went to Roskilde on a day trip one weekend and saw the old Viking ships.

I went on a study tour of Western Denmark with my architecture professor and fellow DIS students.

In Kolding, Denmark we went to a medieval castle that has been transformed and preserved in a really fascinating and impressive way. It is now the Koldinghus Museum.

The day we visited a Beatles exhibit was opening there! The Danes really love the Beatles! Oh and really cool architecture, like these skylights from the Trapholt Museum in Kolding.

I went to Paris with my dad's father, my Pepe, three weekends ago, which was more than amazing! I loved Paris and could definitely see myself living there somewhere down the line. I especially loved that I got to see the city for the first time with Pepe, who has been there so many times before. He is such a brilliant man!

He knows so much about the city and can remember so many things. It was really special to have him as my tour guide!

And this past week I went on another study tour through Germany and the Netherlands. I went to Utrecht, Rotterdam and Amsterdam in the Netherlands and Essen, Cologne and Hamburg in Germany.

This was of course in Amsterdam. I saw it on my way to the Van Gogh Museum.

I've completed my first architectural model and presentation, and I'm about to start on my second one. I've started sketching more frequently and making friends more easily. I think I'm just happy to find that there are other people in this world who will spend countless hours on an art/information project (architecture is a lot like page design). I'm also glad to be around so many artistic people for a change. It's really refreshing! It's also nice to be learning about something I have no knowledge in. It's difficult, but extremely stimulating!

Well, it's 12:01 a.m. here and I'm exhausted since I had to wake up at 7 a.m. to make it to my 8:30 class
this morning so that's all for now.

Peace and love!
Elizabeth
